MARRONNIER.

Our large house contains two very comfortable Gites.  It is situated on the outskirts of a large village of some 2000 inhabitants.  It is 5km from Bernardville and Barr, 11km from Selestat and Obernai, and 15km from Mont St. Odile.  Strasbourg and Colmar are 32km away and we are situated in the very heart of Alsace.  (Both Gites can be hired together for a party of up to 12 people).

Marronier is situated on the first floor and sleeps up to six people.  It comprises the following:

A large kitchen with solid oak furniture and integrated appliances, including a refrigerator with freezer compartment, an electric oven, a gas hob (4 burners) with cooker hood, a microwave oven, double sink and dishwasher.  There is a solid oak dining table and 6 chairs.

The living room contains sofas and a television.  Free WiFi is available.

There are 3 bedrooms. One with 2 single beds ( 100 cm x 200 cm and 110 cm x 180 cm), one with a 2 single bed (100 cm x200 cm) and one with a double (180 cm x 190 cm)

The bathroom comprises a bath, shower, bidet, a basin and a washing machine.  The toilet is separate.

At the rear of the property, there is a large sheltered garden, vine covered pergola, garden table and chairs, a wooden picnic bench and a barbecue.

There is private parking for up to 5 cars.

The Gite rental is Saturday to Saturday (4pm to 10am)

Bed linen is provided, with beds being made up for your arrival.  Please bring your own towels.

No pets allowed.

Please leave the Gite in the same condition as you found it on arrival, otherwise an additional charge of 40 Euros will be made to cover extra cleaning.

All utilities are included in the rental price, however, the Government requires that a ”taxe de sejour” of 1.10 Euros per person, per day is charged.  (Children under 18 years are exempt).

ACTIVITIES

Tennis court 500m.  Swimming pools at Selestat and Ville, numerous waymarked walks and cycle trails nearby.  There is also a signed footpath through the local vineyards. There are many places of interest in the area.

To find the Gite, from Strasbourg, take exit 13 from the motorway.  If you are coming from the south (Colmar) take exit 16B.  At the roundabout in Epfig (Meubles Hertrich/Restaurant Kirmann) take the road signed to Itterswiller, and you will find the Gite 800m on the left. (There is a Gites de France sign in front of the house).

Please note that in Alsace, supermarkets and food shops are closed on a Sunday.  You will find supermarkets in nearby Selestat and Barr.  However – there is now a Carrefour Contact store (similar to Sainsbury’s Local etc.) in Epfig. It is situated on rue des Artisans (off the main
